Looking to make a change?

Whether you're looking to make a career change, or just want to get your foot in the door, the Veterinary Assistant position is a great starting point.

Veterinary Assistants are primarily responsible for assisting the doctors and technicians with patients, treatments, procedures, and more. Sometimes this means restraining a patient for a blood draw or bandage application. Sometimes this means prepping a sample to be shipped to the lab. Sometimes this means counting out tablets for a prescription. And sometimes, unfortunately, it means cleaning. Lots of cleaning.

But you have to start somewhere, right?!

At Midtown, we're BIG supporters of education, training up, and promoting from within. If you want to be a Veterinary Technician, we will give you on-the-job training. If you want to become a Certified Veterinary Technician, we will help you with the hands-on training required for your certification program. And if you think you want to go to Vet School, we'll give you the practical experience you need to make an informed decision about your future.

Working in veterinary medicine is not easy. It is both physically and emotionally taxing. If you think this will be an opportunity to play with puppies and snuggle with kittens, we have to warn you that you'll really only spend about 5% of your time doing that. The rest of your time will be spent with sick pets, scared pets, messy pets, and the frantic pet owners that accompany them.

If you still think you're interested, and if you're not afraid of hard work, we welcome your application!
